I had the pleasure of photographing R & D’s wedding at
in August, and it was a day full of personality and charm. Kent Life is a working farm park that offers a wonderfully unique setting for an intimate wedding, with a Pink Chapel, a Village Hall, and a barn all located on site. Set in the heart of rural Kent, it’s easy to see why the couple chose this venue — especially with the added bonus of animals and open space, making it perfect for weddings with children.
The day began at the Village Hall, where the ceremony took place. True to the relaxed and fun nature of the wedding, the bride arrived in memorable style by tractor, while the groom made his entrance in a vintage police car. Inside, the Village Hall had been beautifully decorated with colourful bunting, and cut flowers displayed in jam jars hung at the end of each row of seats, giving the space a rustic and personal feel.
After the ceremony, there was plenty of time for guests to mingle and enjoy a very special treat — a birds of prey meet-and-greet. This unexpected addition quickly became a highlight of the day, creating a real sense of excitement and fascination for guests of all ages.
The wedding breakfast and speeches were held in the Wagon Store Barn, an intimate and characterful space with exposed timber beams. The tables were simply styled with paper flowers and books as centrepieces, perfectly complementing the barn’s rustic atmosphere. Dried hops and fairy lights added warmth to the room, creating a cosy and welcoming setting for the celebrations.
Following the wedding breakfast, everyone returned to the Village Hall for the first dance. With drinks flowing and the dance floor full, the celebrations continued well into the evening, bringing a relaxed and joyful wedding day at Kent Life to a perfect close.
